Seven Chapters cover the various Maserati Tipo 26 models, 26, 26B, 26MM, 26B MM, 26R, 26C, 26C MM and the Tipo 26M and 26MM, fitted with 2.5, 2,8 and 3-litre engines.
The eighth Chapter covers the history of the 16-cylinder models V4 and V5, which were contemporary to the Tipo 26s. Historical sections give a yearly overview of Grand Prix, sports car or voiturette racing. These overviews precede a description of each batch of cars produced in the relevant year. For each individual car produced a chassis by chassis description is followed by:
1) a complete list of contemporary race appearances and results (up to 1954)
2) profiles of drivers, owners, entrants, teams and related personalities who are mentioned in the book.
The ninth Chapter gives a complete technical description of each model, in particular covering its evolution by listing all the improvements and/or differences between each car. The text firmly concentrates on contemporary racing history, not the later fate of surviving cars.
