Flavia Fulvia – The avant-garde Lancias

Not so almost 60 years ago when Lancia – already known for its industry-leading technology – presented the Flavia.

It was avant-garde in many ways, the fruit of Lancia’s new future-focused strategy under Carlo Pesenti’s visionary ownership and professor Antonio Fessia’s product development.

Soon followed by a similarly advanced Fulvia, these models set the tone for a more than 15-year era in Lancia history.

Flavia and Fulvia were the benchmark for many other car maker on how to develop automobiles to a premium level.

Additional special-bodied coupés and convertibles and an unrivalled motorsport engagement underlined the company’s commitment to establish its unique position in an ever increasing industrial competition.

Both models have been the subject of many books and articles, by Oude Weernink as well as others.

But after many years the author felt the need to rearrange all his earlier researched historical information and publications for this book, added to and completed with additional facts and illustrations.
